10Weise, und allen Athenern gegenüber ein trefflicher Mann ist
11und wohlwollend dem Volk, zu Glück und Heil!, wolle
12beschließen der Rat: dass die Vorsitzenden, die erlost sein werden
13zum Vorsitz im Volk für die nächste Volksversammlung,
14darüber verhandeln lassen und die Beschlussvorlage
15des Rates in die Volksversammlung einbringen, wonach der Rat beschließt,
16dass man belobige Bithys S.d. Kleon aus Lysimacheia wegen seiner Leistung
17und seines Wohlwollens gegenüber dem Volk der Athener, und
18bekränze mit goldenem Kranz gemäß dem Gesetz; dass er
19Athener sein soll, er selbst und die Nachkommen, und
20eingeschrieben werde in Phyle und Demos und Phratrie, die er will,
21gemäß dem Gesetz; dass die amtierenden
22Prytanen über ihn abstimmen lassen; – Damit ein
23Wettstreit sei unter allen, ehrgeizig zu sein für das Volk
24der Athener, in dem Wissen, dass sie den Wohltaten
25angemessenen Dank erwerben werden: dass diesen Beschluss
26der Sekretär, der während der Prytanie amtiert, aufzeichne
27auf eine steinerne Stele und aufstelle auf der Akropolis; dass für die
28Aufzeichnung auf der Stele die Finanzverwalter

12shall decide: that the presiding committee allotted
13to preside in the People at the next Assembly
14shall put the matter on the agenda and submit the opinion
15of the Council to the People, that it seems good to the Council
16to praise Bithys son of Kleon of Lysimacheia for his excellence
17and good will to the Athenian People, and
18to crown him with a gold crown according to the law; and that he be
19Athenian, both he and his descendants, and
20shall enrol in the tribe and deme and phratry that he wishes
21according to the law; and the prytany that is
22presiding shall put the vote about him, so that there might be
23competition among everyone to show love of honour towards the Athenian
24People, knowing that they will receive thanks
25to the value of their benefactions; and the prytany secretary
26shall inscribe this decree on a stone
27stele and stand it on the acropolis; and for the
28inscription of the stele the board of administrators shall allocate
2910 drachmas.
